Downtown was absolutely crammed. Mainly on State Street and Daley Plaza. I was down at work in my quiet little corner of the loop over by the Art Institute. Strolled up Michigan to meet up with Jason and the gang. And the closer I got, the denser it got. Chicago was suddenly New York on any given day. It was a regular Times Square. But people weren't as fast as New Yorkers. It was more like, “Land of the disoriented People...” Bumping into each other, staggering about and looking up. No snow. It was in the fifties. I looked at my phone to see the date. It's only November 24th. I always thought Thanksgiving and all of this hoo ha was the last week in November. Well, this year, the last Thursday of the month is the 24th. Exactly a month before Christmas Eve. A month? Only a month?! Yikes! Time to haul out the holly. Wasn't it just July?
