The power of words, the power of insinuation.
When someone says something, it is immediately put out there for interpretation.
How many of us have put our foot in our mouths over the years? I wonder if Kelly Rippa IS putting her foot in her mouth after what she said when Clay Aiken put his HAND over her mouth.
I don't really believe that what she said was coming from HER as something homophobic. Saying, “I don't know where your had has been” is a kind of cheeky thing you could say to anyone. Unfortunately with the whole Clay thing being scandalous and the biggest thing standing in front of him these days (this is what you get for being “mysterious” Clay)... when Kelly said that, ofcourse, all of our wheels turn and because of the Clay issue, rolling up on our thought rolodex and with association, we hear that phrase as meaning that Clay is gay and promiscuous (hence the IM hookups and whatever else... as soon as one person has ONE IM that is provocative they are suddenly a filthy whore) and we also hear Kelly saying that as if HER thoughts are, if you are (supposedly) gay then you are an unclean person.
Ok, so roll the thought rolodex around some more and yes, it IS flu season and we have the whole bird flu thing floating in our consciousness. Ofcourse that is what Kelly might have meant. Unfortunately she is suspicious of using THAT as a way to cover up what she really meant.
In other WORDS... this is a big hunk of gobbledygook in a world where so much terroristic information is pummeling us from all angles that we are all becoming very sensitive about everything.
But why not? Why NOT be sensitive? We SHOULD be sensitive.
Things like this happen to illustrate how many subjects and issues are still not talked about and are swept under the rug. When things like this happen (and with the whole Kramer thing... although watching THAT video, he does go crazy... it's weird, unsettling and yes, uncalled for. The “N” word is NOT something you say to an audience) when things like this happen they need to be pulled up, examined and talked about.
We all have similiar thoughts, similiar unspoken thoughts. We all think we are the only ones who think certain things, but just as we all like similiar foods, tv shows and such, we all have similiar thoughts we keep to ourselves. There is no need to keep these thoughts to ourselves. They SHOULD be discusses. All sides of an issue make for exhilarating discussion that can raise us ALL to a new conscious level.
