What to think...

I don't know what to think (at the moment) about this whole James Frey/Oprah thing. I think the most important thing... (hey whaddya know, I'm thinking!) the most important thing is really examining the whole process of truth in publishing. It is a very responsible job on everyones part. One person gets “duped” and then there is an entire chain of dupedness like an entangled and garbled game of phone tag. It's the world. It is where we are today. It is so ironic that in this day of the information superhighway, the truth has blurred. How can it blur? And how can the important truths rise to the surface amidst all the bullshit and fluff?

I had a reunion with my friend Peggy today. I had not seen her in atleast twelve years. We picked up right where we left off. We went to College together in a theater conservatory so we have a permanent forever bond. She is a theatrical “Jane” of all trades. She can act, she can sing, she can dance, she can direct, stage manage and choreograph. She is smart to be so versatile because it keeps her constantly working in many different ways. She is presently the stage manager and dance captain for the tour of “Little Women” starring Maureen McGovern (who dropped by the table at the restaurant to say hello... just thought I would name drop and let you know how glamorous my life is!)

Peggy and I talked about EVERYTHING and marveled at how long it's been and how we still feel like we are just beginning. There is nothing like an uplifting conversation with an old friend.
