the news...

Once again, the news is treating this mass slaying like it's a ratings boosting tv show. Dramatic music, graphics, black and white moody camera shots... and what disturbed me the most was a very detailed explanation of what kind of gun he used and how he did it as if it were a “Slaying 101” course.
With the title of it being the worst slaying in the history of the united states, and with it majestically blazed across our tv screens with a really cool and bold font, now some whacko is going to want to top the record. I know that it's news, people need and want to know what is going on, but the way they present it in such a glorifying manner that someone else out there is going to top the record. Some other disturbed person is going to want to WIN because it's a tv game show competition.
It's always been this way. And we wonder why these things happen. We wonder why people get killed like this when guns are practically sold via vending machines. Did you know that there are places you can RENT guns?
