for once and for ever...

WE ARE NOT A CULT!!!

I am so tired of thinking gay groups, people... are going to influence young people into being gay. There was NOTHING in my upbringing that made me gay. I was BORN gay. I know this for a fact because it is what I have been feeling and knowing since I can remember.

When I was three years old, I had a crush on Roy Clark. He was on a local tv show in chicago and I loved his smile and didn't just look up to him, but LIKED him.

As I got older, I was attracted to this cartoon character names Sinbad the Sailor. He was this big muscle-y dude. I wanted him to pick me up in his big arms and hold me.

When I was five I had a crush on Bobby Buntrock from Hazel. I knew I was young because when I remember having this crush, I remember Bobby being much older than me. He was eight. I also had a crush on Mike Lookinland who played Bobby Brady.

I looked at Tiger Beat to look at the cute guys not the girls.

I dressed up in my Mom's moo moo and played Snow White because I was just innatley compelled to do so. Nobody put that moo moo on me and for that matter, nobody put an apron on me and gave me a basket and told me to run around outside yelling, “auntie em!!” It was my INNATE desire to do that.

When I was an adolescent, my first puppy love insane crush was my best friend Bryan. No it wasn't requited. But boy did I LOVE him. I was not forced or inspired to feel these things. It was what I knew.

So if someone is gay, they are gay and they will always be gay.
If someone isn't gay, there is no way in hell that they will ever be influenced to be gay. Don't worry. If they ARE influenced then it's because they already WERE gay. And everyone should be allowed to be who they are.

This rant was inspired by the following news article...

Island Christian leaders: Ban Elton John

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (Reuters) -- Pop singer Elton John should be banned from performing at a jazz festival in Tobago because his homosexuality could influence young people, some Christian leaders on the Caribbean island said Monday.

A group of Christian churches have failed to persuade the Tobago House of Assembly, which oversees the administration of the island, to join the call for a boycott of John's appearance at the Plymouth Jazz Festival in late April.

But they said they would pursue the campaign against John, who married his partner David Furnish in Britain in 2005.

"We feel it can have a negative social impact. There are some who may not be sure of their sexuality and one has to be careful about how this can create impressions on impressionable minds," pastor Terrance Baynes told Reuters Monday.

Jazz festival organizer CL Communications dismissed calls for a boycott and said the show would go on.

"Elton John is coming as what he is, one of the world's greatest performers," said Anthony Maharaj, adding that the country should be honored to have John perform in Tobago, the smaller island of energy-rich Trinidad.

"His band has performed in every country around the world. .... He is not coming here to preach about what lifestyle people should have," he said.
