We know, we know... you're NOT going...

Poor Jennifer Hud... I mean Holliday.
Drama, drama, drama... publicity stunt, publicity stunt, publicity stunt...
She is pouting, saying that she was snubbed by Paramount. “I have to work too!”
Well then get out there and work. We can never tire of hearing you sing.
She claims that she is self managed. That is the first clue that she might be an overbearing and tempermental diva who is difficult to work with. I mean, the girl is talented and why would she NOT be signed, sealed and delivered by ANY agent or manager? This business is tough and in the moment. You have to keep up with the Joneses or forget about it.

Diva or not, let me tell you this:
The force of nature that is Jennifer Hollidays talent is unbelievable, perhaps even by her. The emotion that she puts into the Tony Award performance of her signature song is frighteningly good. I think the problem is that she is SO amazing that she is untouchable. After Hurricane Jennifer hits, the audience is wrecked and in some cases unsalvageable.

In her one performance of that song she puts the energy of another singers entire career. Into ONE song. Watch for yourself... and hang on for the ride.

This is what happens (I think) when you are scary talented. Everything gets blown out of proportion and somewhere down the line, the artist secretly resents the attention her talent recieves and not her as an individual. It gets all screwed up.

It makes me think of other self sabotoging artists like Billie Holiday (coincidence?) and Judy Garland. They both felt robbed of their personal lives because of their talent and fame. Jennifer, a self proclaimed recluse needs to set her ego aside and do what she was born to do.

Sing.
And love herself doing it.
