Who's the gal?

Who is this femme fatale? Why none other than Hazel! It's Shirley Booth in 1927. Recently Jason and I got our hands on the DVD of the Hazel series (first season) and I have to say, I just LOVE freakin' Hazel!!!
Shirley Booth is so great in this role, I think it is safe to say it is one of the best television performances in history. The show is SO wholesome and it just makes you feel great. Each and every actor is perfect.
I love the opening, love the ending credits with The Modernaires singing the theme song, love “Mr. B!”
Did you know that the mother, played by Witney Blake in real life is the mother of Merideth Baxter? Is it no coincidence that the family name in Hazel is “Baxter?” I wonder if Merideth chose that for her professional name? Anyway, I am just a Hazel nut (pun totally intended.) Ahhh... Hazel, I can almost smell the chocolate chip cookies in the opening credits.
Here is a wonderful tribute to this legendary actress by Kevin Minton.
