Susan St. James was on Oprah today with her family talking about the plane crash that killed her youngest son and injured her husband Dick (producer of Saturday Night Live, etc.) and her son, Charlie (who saved his father from the crash just before it exploded into flames). Her youngest son, Teddy was thrown from the plane and killed instantly. The manner in which this woman dealt with this tragedy and the way she held the torch and guided her family through this was and is amazing. I want to say, simply amazing because that is what it was for her, simple. Simple attitudes to guide yourself through life and not slipping into resentment and negativity. Based on the names of her children from a previous marriage, Sunshine and Harmony, it is my immediate perception that Susan was (and still is) a free spirit Hippie chick.
She was cool. I liked her and want to re-watch the show and put some of her quotes down on paper.
