Water

I bought a shower filter. It turned into an expensive venture as I broke the old shower head as I was removing it. There was an attachment that had been added to the shower head to add a spray hose which we never used and so I tried to remove it with a wrench and it pretty much fell apart. I also hate how all these little chrome shavings get everywhere and then I worry that the cats will ingest it and blah, blah, blah... so off to the hardware store and I wanted to make sure to get the same kind of shower head. It cost fifty bucks! Even the guy at the cash register was amazed at the price. “Wow... this must be a pretty amazing shower head.”
It's ok. It looks cool and it is just as good as any other kind of shower head I guess. I don't know. Who cares.
But now I can take a shower without breathing in and absorbing all those unescessary chemicals.
I feel good about all these steps I am taking. It's interesting how we deal with water and what we do with water. We choose chemicals to disinfect our water... why does the water have to be so dirty? What did we do to make it dirty?
I thought of this example about our relationship with tap water. I remember my Mom would buy distilled water for the iron. She didn't want to use tap water because it would ruin the iron with all manner of deposits that would clog up the iron and it could also be hard on your clothes when you used the steam setting. Ok, so we won't use tap water in an iron but we will happily chug glass after glass of water without a single worry of what it is doing to our bodies. But don't worry, our clothes will look GREAT.
Our priorities are so screwed up.
I have to say I like Ice Mountain distilled water the best.
