I woke up this morning and found George messing around with Photoshop on my computer. Sure, it pissed me off because now there was cat litter and hair stuck in my keyboard, but she insisted that I post this tribute she did to the fourth of July. I have always questioned George's level of taste. But it's kind of cute. She is very patriotic even if during fireworks she hides under the bed.

We are heading out to the burbs for the fourth, maybe even see some fireworks. Growing up in Dundee, I remember going over to my friend Julie Oatman's house to watch the fireworks as they set them off from the field next to Glen Oaks swimming pool. The Oatmans lived in Sleepy Hollow which at that time was very charming and not nearly as built up as it is now. Their house was on the side of a hill with a wooded backyard and framed in the break of the trees were the fireworks... as if they were being presented just to them. We actually said, “Oooo” and “Ahhh.”
One year, Jason and I were up in Valley City, North Dakota and went to see fireworks with a mass of zillions of other cars in a muddy field. We didn't dare get out of the car because seriously, a million mosquito's were hovering in a thick grey cloud. We turned around and went home.
The best fireworks I have ever seen were at Epcot Center in  Florida... and perhaps at the Aquatennial in Minneapolis which was always held on my birthday. I liked to think that the fireworks were in honor of me!
