It was so sweet when he group-hugged his comrades and his microphone was still on and you could hear him saying, “I love you guys...” and they were laughing and genuine. It made me think of college. It made me think of being out in the world for the first time and the life long friends you encounter. It's one of those big heart felt sigh moments.
Idol tonight, seeing Phil and Chris leave made me think of the show Zoom and how upset I would get when the old zoomers would leave and be replaced by new ones. It's nice to be accustomed to something. It's nice to see the same kids every week and root for them and see them as part of a group that you are supporting. That's what I like about Idol. It's a very American thing. (hence the name ofcourse). But I like to know that millions of people are watching. It's the Ed Sullivan of our times.
