It's called, “Remember The Milk” a web based task management program that was created in Australia.
First of all, it's free.
Second of all you don't have to go to Australia to get it. You go here...
Third of all it has many different options and ways to tailor it to your own personal way of doing things. It also has great keyboard shortcuts to make it easy to input information and to categorize it, due date it and (hopefully) actually DO it. :-)
Things that get in my way...
When I find an application like this, I go through the honeymoon period and just love it to bits and bits (no pun intended). But then I begin to question whether there are better apps out there and then I begin slinking around on the internet with overcoat and dark sunglasses looking for an app to cheat with.
Well, this time, no cheating needed. No seven day itch. After monkeying around with all (and I mean ALL) the alternatives (I'm such a whore) I realize that as of now, this is the best one.
Oddly in many of the GTD chat groups and bulletin boards they don't seem to think much of this application. The ones that they like I think are clunky and cumbersome or expensive.
So check it out (dude) and see if it will help you GET THINGS DONE.
A suggestion... the first thing you should do with this app is to go to the inbox and seriously just do a big mind dump (doesn't that kind of sound gross?)
Once you have cleared your head of everything and I mean, seriously clear your head of everything no matter how miniscule. Ok, clipping toe-nails might be a bit too much or typing in “breathe...” Then once it is all put into the system, then you can sort it, due date it, context it, and yes, actually DO it.
Do do do do do do do do do!!!!!
