Idol Thoughts...

This show takes a lot of work! I mean, from a viewers standpoint... I have to set aside five hours a week to watch this show? So, my attitude was, ok, if I am going to make the effort, it had better be worth it.

I am very annoyed by Seacrest. One homophobic comment after another when he was surrounded by the guys. Enough already. AND, the Simon bashing is so last year. I know it's part of the shtick but the message it presents is... honesty is mean and bad. Paula is so worthless. “You're a star... you shine... gee, I thought you were good.” Randy has grown on me. I like him better this year.

I was a bit distraught the night of the twelve guys. I screamed and yelled at the tv as almost one by one they just blew huge out of pitch chunks!

Here are my comments:

Boys Boys Boys!

Shoeless Paul: Simon is right. Put your damn shoes on. And I think he's boring. Another one of those singers who is so affected and unconnected.

Sundance: I am SO disappointed! What is with the vowels? What is with the flat notes? And you cheated at the end on your oo vowel. BAD!!!! I thought his first audition was amazing and I was just rooting all over the place. Shit.

AJ: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz yeah, cute I know but zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Beat Box Blake: BEST IN SHOW!!!! Loved his voice. Very unique, very connected, worked the camera. Proud, proud PROUD of you. Yay!!!!!

Brandon: snoresville. Nice voice, sure, but who cares.

Timberlake Chris: Very adorable, great stage presence... it was interesting to see him being interviewed and then when he hit the stage. He's one of those people who transforms under the spotlight. I liked him. I want to hear him sing other songs too... need to see more, but great start. a-dor-a-ble.

Campus Chris: Great voice. Disconnected. Needs work. Surprised because he was so good in his initial audition. I think he was being lazy. And yes, the humor is great but don't hide completely behind it. Grow up. We know you are funny... now be the man and take the stage.

Jared: Nice looking, nice voice... boring though.

Nicholes: I am having a hard time remembering. I think I liked him. I think he wasn't the worst one. Yikes.

Phil: Good voice. He knows what he is doing. He was good. But not the best. Another one who I don't really remember that much. So no impression made on me.

Rudy: Kind of scared of someone named Rudy... and yes, very enthusuastic but Randy was right, very corny. Very theme park.

Sanjaya: I like his voice... he's just so green. He has the essence of a five year old.

GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS!
Much better round than the guys.

Alaina, Amy and Antonella... thank you for putting me to sleep. I had a very nice nap.

Gina: Love Gina. Love that she is from Naperville. Root root root for the home team! I like her look and her end note was very exciting.

Haley... who? what? I can't remember. sorry.

Jordan: You are only seventeen? Oh my dear you have such a career in front of you and you are so enthusisastic and winning. I just love to hear a big voice come out of such a little girl. Wow.

Lakesha: What was all the fuss about? I didn't think she was the best one. I didn't think she raised the bar... she borrowed it from Jennifer Hudson. And who adapted the song? It was all over the place. The end note was boring.

Leslie: I liked her. She was good. Cute. Yes, gangly... she might make a good Ado Annie.

Nicole... yikes! Another one I can't remember.

Melinda: I love her voice. I like her presence. I thought she really kicked and better than Lakesha... but the night belonged to...

Sabrina and Stephanie... these girls are pros. I expected it from Sabrina. Professional. Knows how to work the camera. Stephanie... very exciting stage presence. Loved the drop to the knees thing. Loved the voice. These girls were the winners... it was a tie. Maybe Sabrina inched a bit above... but she seems to have more experience.

I think I will keep watching... so many bad people in the 24 that it will be pretty easy and from a spectators angle, boring... just get rid of the slugs... and onto the real game please.
