Favorite Singer Time!

This weeks favorite singer is Clyde McPhatter. This R&B legend was famous for several songs, including the moving “Without Love, There Is Nothing” and the upbeat “A Lovers Question.” His soulful tenor was bright and crisp and friendly, yet heartbreaking when he sang ballads.
He is also known for singing with the Drifters on their classic recording of “White Christmas.” Initially the song is being sung by one of the Drifter baritones, but then the mic is handed over to Clyde and he sings through the song again in his notable manner. It is impossible to listen to him sing an uptempo without tapping your foot. He also has one of the best showbiz smiles that ever existed. Go here to listen to several recordings.
