I just watched for the umpteenth time, Elaine Stritch on Martha Stewart. To see the two of them making Ceasar Salads together is one of the best moments in television EVER. And then if that is not enough, Elaine, WONDERFUL Elaine treats us with the opening and closing numbers from her show at the Carlyle. I absolutely LOVE this woman. She is the top of the heap. She is the END ALL. She is a one and only and one of the only ones left! She is going to be 81 on February 2nd. Eighty one years old and she is unstoppable! She is so freakin' inspiring, I don't know what to do about it! Well, I DO know what to do about, BE INSPIRED and happy that this woman gets up in front of people and let's it all hang out. I am so happy that I have had the honor of seeing her perform LIVE twice. Once at the Neil Simon in New York in her one woman show, “At Liberty” and the other time in Minneapolis when she came through touring the show. What was great was that the show she gave on Broadway was match for match energy, commitment and bravado the SAME show she did in Minneapolis. This woman is PURE theater. Happy Birthday a few days early Elaine!
